Welcome to the Halswell Junior Cricket Club.
We are one of the fastest growing Junior Cricket Clubs in Christchurch with over 30 junior teams of talented boys and girls. Our friendly club welcomes new players of all ages and abilities. Our focus is on ensuring the kids have fun, make new friends and participate as much as possible.
Registrations for the 2025/2026 season are NOW CLOSED now. We have limited spaces left in teams, so please get in touch if you would like to register your child.
Smash Play registrations will remain open until its full, but we have limited spaces left.

Key Season Dates 2025-2026:
- Registrations for Saturday cricket for 2025/2026 season are open closed.
- Open Day (“have a go” day) – Sunday 14th September
- Junior Soft ball & Hard ball games start on Saturday 11th October 2025.
- Smash Play to start Wednesday 22nd October
- There are no games at Labour Weekend or Show Weekend, but we will run club games at Labour Weekend
- Last game before Christmas is 13th December
- Games re-start 31st January after the Christmas holidays
- There ARE games at Waitangi weekend, but these will likely be held on the Thursday afternoon/evening
- Final game for the season is 21st March 2025 (juniors), and youth is 28th March.

Our Junior Team Options
Soft Ball Grades.
We have options and teams for boys and girls of all abilities from age 4 years old, up to Year 4 at school, including Smash Play and Saturday morning cricket. New players are always welcome.
Hard Ball Grades.
From School Year 5 onwards, players move into the hard ball grades and progressively transition towards the conventional game of cricket. The aim of our hard ball cricket grades is to provide players with a fun, fair & learning game.
Girl's Cricket.
We welcome any new female players thinking of giving cricket a go. We have girls only teams from School Year 3 onwards and are huge supporters of Canterbury Cricket in wanting to expand the Girls competition.
Junior Cricket Fees
Saturday Cricket is $85 – $100 for the first child, depending on the level played. Subsequent children receive a 30% discount (does not include Smash Play).
